Recently, our Zoelle has been doing everything around the house "just like a mom". She goes to bed "just like a mom", she goes potty "just like a mom", she crosses her legs "just like a mom" (see picture), and her absolute favorite thing to do "just like a mom", is to eat without a bib.
It's caused me to really re-think my actions as a mom. They affect her. She looks up to me. Wants to be me. That is scary and humbling all at once. She loves me and wants to be like me, and I so want to be a mom that can live up to her expectations. A God honoring, loving wife and mom, whom she wants to be "just like a mom".
So on this Mother's Day, my goal is to be "just like a mom" and show her love, respect, courage, strength, compassion, and so many other things that my mom showed me, so that one day I could teach her to be "just like a mom".
Happy Mother's Day!
LOVE the picture of her crossing her legs "just like a mom"
ReplyDeleteMy littlest one and biggest one are like this. The middle one may be too.. just not nearly as vocal about it.
I have funny stories to tell you about that. I'll tell you when I catch you on FB chat one of these days!
I know isn't it cute? It's the best one I could find of her!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet about your two. I'll have to catch you sometime to hear all about it! :)
Today, my 3-year-old was trying to do everything exactly like me. Finally, she exclaimed excitedly, "We're twins!" And that just about melted my heart. :)
ReplyDeleteBeing a parent really does make you a better person, doesn't it? I'm constantly striving to be better and more than I am because I know that little eyes are watching me.
Happy Mother's Day!

Zoelle too has declared us to be twins and it is precious! :)
ReplyDeleteBeing a parent has stretched and growed me in more ways than I ever thought possible! I feel the same way as you, my girls are watching everything I do and so I want to make sure my actions are positive as they will follow in my steps.
Happy Mother's Day (a day late) to you as well! :)
